If the eye is the window to the soul, then perhaps the eyebrows are the frames. A full, well-groomed eyebrow can make your eyes more expressive and youthful. Making your eyebrows look flawless everyday can be time-consuming, however. And it can be a little tricky to keep everything consistent. It’s no wonder that microblading is a popular beauty treatment! That said, how should you care for your eyebrows after microblading?

Immediate Aftercare

Because microblading is essentially a tattooing technique, you’ll find that microblading aftercare is quite similar to tattoo aftercare. Two hours after the procedure, dip a cotton swab in sterilized water and run it over the area to remove excess pigment and keep things clean. Your technician may give you a medicated cream or healing balm. Make sure you use it as directed.

Skin Care

In the days following your microblading procedure, you’ll need to take special care of your eyebrows. Avoid getting them wet for seven days, including while you shower. You should also avoid swimming, saunas, and activities that will cause you to sweat excessively until you’ve healed and had your follow-up appointment. Don’t wear makeup for at least a week to avoid contaminating the area.

You may find that your eyebrows itch as they heal. Resist the temptation to scratch or tug at the area, or to pick at any scabs that form. Make sure you wear sunscreen after you’ve completely healed to prevent the sun from fading your beautiful new brows.

The Touch-Up Appointment

After your initial microblading treatment, you may need to go in for a touch-up appointment. This usually takes place approximately six weeks after the initial appointment. This appointment allows your technician to correct any areas where the pigment may not have taken, provided there have been no complications and the healing process is complete. If touch-ups have been made, you’ll need to take special care of the area until you are fully healed.

Proper eyebrow aftercare is an important part of making sure you get the best results from your microblading treatment. That, along with follow-up treatments, will ensure that you have perfectly beautiful brows all day, every day. Remember, if you ever have any questions about microblading and how to best care for your brows afterward, you can always ask the expert technicians at Blake Charles Salons.
